Cast paper and painted paper and paper mâché and shredded paper. A little bit of everything leads to ....something.

Crows N•S•E•W•

        

   Crows of the world.... All corners of the globe. Front and back. Left and right. On the side. Never upside down.

Thinking birds. Making a dent in cement. Their beaks are tools. They know many things. 

Above, Below and Within

Paper mâché circle .... Cast over a round basket .

Cast paper pulp face.... Rising out of...... Sinking into. A continuous circle .... A continuous cycle.

Cast from the model of a friend. We wrapped her

In cellophane tape and carefully cut it off.

It became the mold to cast paper mâché upon. 

Then hot melt glue lace was layered on.

Layering onward.

Shredded paper and open space make the armor

for this girl.

Honeycomb

Circle shapes from twisted sheets of newspaper. Small rolls or primed and glued newspaper fill in the negative spaces. Everything is primed in white. 

Draw threads, string or metallic yarn across the open circles. A honeycomb to create wall texture.

 Folded junk mail postcards make the 

Bodies on these three. Shredded paper 

Pulp are molded into the head and feet 

With wire for support. Shredded paper strips for hair and the little ones are done!

The paper on the covers is recycled newspaper with lots of texture .

Cast paper pulp

Shredded paper pulp cast as the frame. Using a personal pizza box for the mold. I used caulking silicone to cast the gold figure. Loving all the texture!

Paper patterns

Thinking of quilts in lovely colors and patterns.... But these are paper.

Cardboard rolls
